Join us for a fantastic trail half marathon at Sweetwater Creek State Park.

 

Course Description

This race course offers 13.1 miles of winding moderately difficult trails in and around the Sweetwater Creek State Park, following the lovely rapids of Sweetwater Creek, and venturing past Civil War-ear textile mill ruins.  The park was ravaged by flooding in September 2009; evidence of this destruction remains throughout the park.

There will be a 3.5 hour time limit for this race.  Formal course support will end at 11:30 a.m.

 

Couples Team Competition

Teams of one male and one female may register together for a special "team" competition (it is the Sweetheart Half Marathon, but you don't have to be sweethearts to compete on a team).  The registered couple with the fastest combined time will receive a special award.  You must be registered as a team to compete in this race category.

 

To register as a couple on-line via Active, the information for both registrants will be on one registration.  If you are filling out a paper application, please fill out two registration forms and submit them together.

The cost for registration is as follows:

Pre-registered by January 30 - $35

After January 30 - $45

Couples Team Registration:  $65 before January 30, $75 after January 30

Race Day Registration is available.

This race is limited to 300 runners.  Technical t-shirts guaranteed to pre-registered entrants prior to January 30, limited sizes and number available to entries after January 30.

 

Awards

Awards will go to Women/Men:  Top 5 overall, 1st place Masters and top couple.  

 

Packet Pick-up

Packet pick-up will be on race day from 6:45 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. on race day at the Group Shelter in Sweetwater Creek State Park.
